Part of the Librarium collection, in which we decided to indulge our love of the State Library of Victoria and it's Pictures collection. We delved through the archives and selected images to collage, mix up, squish, colourise and generally mess with to create our prints.
The 1880 print was created from: A photograph of the South Australian Court from the 1880 exhibition at the Royal Exhibition Building
A drawing of Tasmanian Tigers, circa 1900-40 (labelled as Tas. Marsupial Wolf!)
A drawing of a kookaburra by John Gould
A photograph of the HMAS Sydney, berthed at Williamstown
A photograph of the MacRobertson display at an exhibition at the Royal Exhibition Building
A photograph by Daniel McDonald of the Town Hall organ circa 1870
A photograph of RAAF air pageants
A photograph of a tiger from the Royal Zoological Gardens in Melbourne
Please note, each pair of pants is different in terms of print placement.
Fabric: digitally printed cotton voile, nice and light. Elastic waisted but not too much gathering - just wiggle them on. Fake fly, single pleat at waist, pockets at sides and back. Approximately ankle length (see measurements below). If you're pondering your size, they are quite tight fitting at the waist - if you don't want to wear them as high waisted, perhaps get the next size up.
Printed and sewn in Australia. Sizes 8-16.
Care: cold hand wash inside out. Do not soak or rub. Do not bleach or tumble dry. Drip dry in shade. Take care when wearing that bags or other garments do not rub or scratch at the fabric. Iron on reverse.
Measurements are in cm. See further sizing info here
